romances…haha…the women say “the odds are good, but the goods are odd” the guys say “there’s a beautiful woman behind every tree”…but yeah, there have been a couple of hookups, there always are. I met my girlfriend on my first trip to the ice…she’s back in Texas dodging hurricanes or something. Some romances last, others are referred to as “ice weddings” which end in “tarmac divorces”

If you wanted to get to the Pole there are a few options..getting a job in Antarctica is a good option if you’re not a millionaire. There are quite a few Adventure outfitters that bring people in during the summer. There is a woman who works in McMurdo during the summer who was a member of the Antarctic Women’s Expedition…basically it was four women who intended on crossing the continent completely unsupported…they made it to Pole before deciding it might be best to try some other time. Anyhow, they did it on sponsorship…so that’s an option. But hey, I thought you hated cold and would much rather be on the beach?

but ive been wondering- do work romances happen there? i mean people must get lonely.

and how can one go there? what if i wanted to visit? is that possible? or do i need to be millionaire and pay lots of money like to get into space?
