About Unusual Hotels of The World

Awaiting the world traveler, nestled amongst the unmatched natural beauty of the Swiss Alps lies this tiny “resort” consisting of 5 “pavilion pods”, a “spa pod” and the main lodge.

Far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life this resort aims to treat its guests to a taste of solitude and alpine tranquility while also aiming to minimize its own impact on the pristine environment which provides a truly stunning setting for this unique lodging opportunity.

The pods are all built on platforms which have a very small footprint allowing for the pod and its platform to be removed with nearly no trace of it ever having existed. The exterior of the pods are white in color so as to better blend in with the surrounding landscape.

The main lodge houses the bar/lounge and fitness center. It is also home to the restaurant where you can sample traditional Swiss cuisine in a dining room constructed from local materials. The spa pod offers two treatment rooms and a hot tub. Each of the pavilion pods has 50 square meters of living space complete with an ensuite bathroom. The pavilion pods each have their own wood stove and are insulated with the latest in insulating technology ensuring the coziness of guests.

In addition to the spa, activities at the resort are commensurate with what you would expect at an alpine resort, dog sledding, snow shoeing, Nordic skiing and of course Alpine skiing on the resort’s private slopes complete with two chairlifts and 600m of vertical drop all with no crowds and available for guest use all hours of the day or night.

The experience isn’t cheap, the current nightly rate is the equivalent of $528 USD with a two night minimum stay but that price does include all applicable taxes and breakfast. For more information see the resort’s website.
